Dr Zhao is a board-certified neurologist and earned her doctorate in medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her residency with the US Army at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Dr Zhao subsequently served as a general neurologist and acting head of neurology at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany – the largest US military hospital outside the continental US – before completing a neuromodulation fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Following her fellowship, Dr Zhao joined University Neurology Associates in Fresno, California where she practiced for two years and served as an Assistant Professor within the UCSF network before moving to St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho. At St. Luke’s, Dr Zhao specializes in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia and other movement disorders and neurological conditions. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Zhao evaluates patients as part of the center’s multidisciplinary movement disorder clinic.
Dr Zhao currently helps guide Efficient’s gap analyses and related activity development specific to Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Dr Zhao is involved in the strategic planning, implementation and oversight of all accredited activities developed by Efficient in these areas.
