Jess obtained his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before earning his medical doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He received residency training in emergency medicine at the University of Pennsylvania during which he developed a passion for medical education and peer coaching.
As a researcher, Jess has published work examining the neural and psychosocial mechanisms mediating the transition from acute to chronic pain. He has also contributed to clinical research in sport-related concussions at UNC–Chapel Hill. Jess is dedicated to improving patient care by delivering high-quality medical education resources that practitioners can readily integrate into their clinical practice. Jess currently assists in all aspects of Efficient’s scientific and strategic operations.
